Metropolitan Community College (MCC), founded in 1915, is the oldest public institution of higher learning in Kansas City, Mo., and was the first community college established in Missouri. Today, MCC comprises five campuses and offers 125 associate degree and certificate programs. MCC is a regional leader in preparing Kansas City’s workforce with career and technical education. Today’s industrial workplace is undergoing rapid change, and MCC is continually innovating to meet the resulting needs.

In response, MCC created a modern apprenticeship program designed to meet the needs of your changing industry. MCC can improve your current labor force, train new employees and help identify an untapped labor pool. With customized on-the-job training (OJT) that you design and MCC designed coursework, your employees will be equipped with the right skills for your most demanding positions. Our goal is to provide a highly trained and well-prepared workforce by partnering with employers, community organizations, governmental agencies, and educational institutions to offer career education to a broad spectrum of students.

The Apprenticeship Office at MCC can serve as a sponsor for a company’s apprenticeship program through the Department of Labor while providing organizational support and wrap-around services including a customized OJT application, enrollment services and book delivery. We can help start a new apprenticeship program or help manage an existing apprenticeship program by taking over your paperwork, reporting and instruction needs.
