Pinnacle Winds, Kansas City’s professional concert band, announces its second concert of the fourth season. The concert will occur on Sunday, April 7, 2024. The concert will take stage at 2:00 pm at St. Peter and All Saints Episcopalian Church. The address is 100 E. Red Bridge Rd, Kansas City, MO 64114. The concert features three chamber music selections for different chamber wind combinations from the Pinnacle Winds roster. The concert opens with Serenade in Eb Major by Richard Strauss. It will be followed by Good Soldier Schweik Suite by Robert Kurka. Antonin Dvorak’s Serenade Op 44 in D minor concludes the concert. All three selections are masterworks for the wind band medium. It is also standard repertoire for orchestral wind players.
The concert will be directed by Pinnacle Winds founder and conductor, Dr. John C. Carmichael. The concert promises an exciting performance by accomplished instrumentalists from Kansas City. Admission is free; donations are accepted.
