Please join us at Community Assistance Council’s April 27 Gala to be a part of this exciting time! After years of growth to better serve the low-income south Kansas City community, CAC is looking ahead to painting a vivid picture of expanded critical services for south Kansas City residents like Jody and Elijah.
Although she works full time as a paraprofessional in an autism classroom, some months Jody’s pay doesn’t cover rent and childcare for her kids ages 2 and 3. After Jody’s mom died, Jody was left in a desperate sink-or-swim situation. CAC helped with emergency rent and case management assistance to support Jody on the path to economic stability.
Elijah is a disabled Desert Storm veteran who is not done serving. In addition to the pantry services and emergency rent Elijah received from CAC, he helps his neighbors who may have language or other barriers connect to CAC services to help keep them from homelessness.
Each week, CAC receives 298 additional requests for assistance from our neighbors like Jody and Elijah. To help meet that need, CAC is painting the future of a center with wrap-around services from different organizations that will support the health, stability and vitality of south Kansas City individuals, families and our community.
We hope you will join us 6:30 pm, Saturday, April 27, More Hall, Saint Thomas More Church, 11822 Holmes Road, Kansas City, as a sponsor for a table of 8, attendee, or donor, to help paint a bright future for south Kansas City.
There will be good food and music and speakers sharing their vision and support for this worthwhile purpose!
