The Martin City Community Improvement District (MCCID) is managed by the South Kansas City Chamber of Commerce.
Martin City is a defined area in South Kansas City, Missouri, whose property owners voluntarily impose additional taxes on themselves in order to fund improvements.
The CID generates revenue from an annual property tax assessment on each parcel located within the CID boundaries and a 1/2 cent retail sales tax on CID businesses. Those businesses generate approximately $50M+ in sales tax revenue annually for the city of Kansas City, Missouri.

The Martin City Community Improvement District is governed by a Board of Directors made up of seven property owners representing various businesses in Martin City.
The Martin City CID has been managed by the South Kansas City Chamber of Commerce since 2018.
South KC Chamber President, Vickie Wolgast, serves as the Martin City CID District Manager.
Business and Development Incentives
MCCID works with the Economic Development Corporation of Kansas City, Missouri, Jackson County, the City of Kansas City, Missouri, and the Land Clearance Redevelopment Authority of Kansas City, to create and identify opportunities for growth and development in Martin City.
Martin City is located in an Opportunity Zone, a HubZone, an Enhanced Enterprise Zone, and an Urban Renewal Area.
Future of Martin City
The Martin City CID is focused on attracting and retaining businesses and residents in Martin City.
Current plans include Holmes Road improvements, adding more sidewalks, parking, and other public amenities, new signage when entering the District, bike lanes, bike racks, more hanging flower baskets, additional landscaping, and trails that are part of the greater KCMO Metro Trails Plan.
