Tell us about Metropolitan Community College.

MCC offers more than 120 degree and certificate programs, at five Kansas City metro campuses, that provide fast entry to a great job at a price student can afford. MCC classes transfer seamlessly for those interested in pursuing a four-year degree. Centers of excellence at MCC include the Public Safety Institute, Health Science Institute and Francis Institute for early childhood education. MCC’s Corporate College offers companies customized on- or off-site sessions for small and large groups. Through its Great Plains OSHA Education Center, MCC coordinates training at seven host sites in Missouri and Kansas.

What are some of Metropolitan Community College’s successes or achievements that you are most proud of?

MCC was named a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense for its cybersecurity program. MCC recently received a $5 million gift from the Sunderland Foundation to support the construction of three state-of-the-art educational facilities in 2021.

What’s an interesting fact about Metropolitan Community College that people might not know?

MCC is the oldest public institution of higher learning in Kansas City, Mo., and was the first community college established in Missouri.
