DESCRIPTION:November Membership Breakfast\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe are very excited to have Kansas City Mayor Pro Tem Ryana Parks-Shaw as our speaker. She will share her thoughts on some of the key opportunities and challenges facing the city and how we as business owners\, community leaders\, and individuals can help our city take advantage of the opportunities and overcome the challenges. \nMayor Pro Tem Parks-Shaw represents the 5th City Council District of Kansas City. She began serving her first term in August 2019. She has lived in the 5th district with her family for over 23 years. Mayor Quinton Lucas appointed Ryana as Mayor Pro Tem of Kansas City in August 2023. She also serves as the Chair of the Neighborhood Planning and Development Committee\, Chair of the Land Bank Commission\, and Vice Chair of the Tax Increment Financing (TIF) Commission. She previously served as the Chair of the Mayor’s Houseless Task Force\, and Co-Chair of the Health Commission. She is also a member of the Kansas City Economic Development Board\, Zoo Board\, KC Shepherd Center Board and the Starlight Board of Directors.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis event will be held at the newly opened Kansas City Aquarium! \nThis world-class facility at the Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium is home to nearly 8\,000 animals in 34 habitats that tell the story of how ocean currents connect animals across the globe. Sobela Ocean Aquarium contains 650\,000 gallons in total. The Aquarium includes animals representing more than 200 species\, including sea otters\, a sea turtle\, sharks\, and giant Pacific octopus.
